Ranjit makes work automatically, and through intuition and instinct. Like automatic writing, or a stream of consciousness moving with the flow of life. Then he takes the photographs and places them into different compositions and allows meaning to come out of them, each photograph is interrelated and all photographs depend on all other photographs, nothing happens in isolation, there are symbolic meanings in the work, and these come out after contemplation, he doesn't tell you what to think or feel, rather, Ranjit allows the viewer to experience the work in their own way, in their own time and to look in a way in which suits them, in this way, as he has done you may find your own meanings coming out of the work and you will feel your own feelings within the work emerging from the photographs. Ranjit does this too, over the years he has contemplated and reflected on the photographs and paintings that he has made, and he wonders, why have I taken that photograph, and why was I drawn to that particular image at that particular time, coming back later you see things that you didn't see before, and you feel things that you didn't see before, much like when you read a book and then years later you come back to it and you see something new, because you have changed over the years.
